Attività EME: IQ2DB

IQ2DB is the call of Sezione ARI di Como used by the A. Volta EME Team Como on 1296 MHz EME.

IQ2DB EME Layout

IQ2DB started EME activity on 23cm on October 10, 2021 with the following setup:
– 3 meter mesh dish, Septum Feed, BIG-RAS HR rotator, PSTRotator control Software
– RX: G4DDK LNA (0,28 dB NF, 30dB Gain) directly connected on Septum Feed, 15m of Hyperflex 10, transverter Kuhne MKU 13G4 (1296-28MHz), Flex Radio 6400
– TX: Flex Radio 6400, Transverter Kuhne MKU 13G4 (28-1296MHz), first PA (80W), 15m Hyperflex 10, PA Kuhne MKU PA 23CM – 1000W CU, 4m 7/8″ coax from the PA to the Septum Feed.

Highlights

December 2021: IQ2DB 2nd WW in the ARRL EME Contest, multioperator 1296 MHz
April 2022: IQ2DB 1st WW in the spring edition of the ARI EME Contest
September 2022: ARI EMWE Fall contest edition, 67 QSO x 12 multipliers.
Octorber 2022: ARRL EME Contest with 101 QSO.
November 2022: ARRL EME 23cm Multiop with a total of 783.000 points. 146 QSO (118 Digi, 27 CW, 33 DXCC, 17 US States and 4 VE provinces).
December 2022: FlashMob 23cm, attività tropo e airscatter. DX IC8TEM, 714 km.
January 2023: QRX for maintenance
February 2023: Two new caountries (PJ2T Curacao e EA8DBM Canarie) and a new US State, Alabama. Still missing Kentucky, Nebraska, New Mexico e Wyoming!
March 2023: QSO with Kentucky, still missing 3 US States to the WAS!
April 2023: thanks to KA6U, we achieved 50 US States!
May 2023: Low activity although 2 new countries are added to the list (S5 e YB)
June 2023: Three new countries added to the DXCC: OJ0EME, 9H1BT e YU1SAN
July 2023: Tropo QSO over 850 Km path with EA6VQ (850km) and DXCC #58
August 2023: Another new country, CT8/W6PQL, DXCC #59. WAS1296 MHz #25 received from ARRL!
September 2023: ARI EME September session, 74 QSO (21 in CW).
October 2023: unfortunately we missed the first leg of the ARRL EME Contest
November 2023: ARRL EME Contest, 2nd leg, 112 QSO x 51 Multipliers (36 DXCC, 11 US States, 4 VE provinces and 7 initials).
December 2023: IQ2DB 1st WW 1296 MHZ in the two sessions of the ARI EME Contest and 1ST in the ARI EME Trophy!
February 2024: we achieve 11 SSB QSO during the Funtest!
March 2024: fantastic QSO with VK0DS from Davis base in Antartica. DXCC # 64
June 2024: DXCC #65 with EA8DBM/9
September 2024: participation to the second leg of the ARI EME contest, worked 54 QSO only digi. We have some network issue that prevent us from doing CW from remote..
October 2024: ARRL 1st leg 70 QSO almost all of them in Q65-30B
